China is the dark horse in the EV race. They will almost certainly end up with a popular model that is the cheapest, like as modern VW tale.
Now they have the first mainstream model to crack 1,000 kilometres from a single charge.
Geely’s Zeekr 001 EV can allegedly (wait for actual user testing) go 1,032 kms from one charge of their 140-kWh battery pack. As a comparison, the standard Tesla 3 has a 50-kWh battery pack.
It also looks great and does 0-100 in 3.8 seconds. The $41,500 price (it is only sold in China presently) makes it a cheap product considering the specs.
