The cheapest car – the Eleksa CityBug for R230,000 – is not a great car, and only has a range of 100km. Still, that is the point of this website – the very cheapest options.
CHEAPEST EVS in USA
The Chevrolet Bolt at $26,595 (which was $36,620 in 2020) is only fractionally cheaper than the
Nissan Leaf which sells for $27,400 in 2023. They are both substantially cheaper than the Tesla 3

VW e-UP! all within one thousand pounds of each other.
CHEAPEST EVS in CANADA
The Canadian government is providing a $2500 or $5000 incentive for low-price electric cars, see this list, until March 31, 2025. In general, the cut-off point is $55,000 MSRP. So take that into consideration.
The cheapest Tesla is $59,990, missing out on the incentives.
